Air Force responds to Chinese and Russian aircraft entering KADIZ

Military authorities here say five Chinese and six Russian aircraft entered the Korea Air Defense Identification Zone today.
According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff the aircraft flew in and around the zone between 9:35 AM and 2 PM on this Friday.
They approached from the east and south seas but did not violate South Korea’s airspace.
The military detected the aircraft before they entered the zone and deployed fighter jets as a precautionary measure.
An air defense identification zone is unilaterally declared by a nation in a bid to track aircraft advancing into its territorial airspace for security purposes.
Chinese and Russian aircraft have entered and left the South Korean air defense identification zone without incident in recent times.
