12/12/2023

Good morning. This year’s December has been an extreme one from record-breaking spring warmth to a rain advisory being issued in Gangwon-do for the first time in December and a snowstorm on the same day. Heavy snow alerts remain in place in the east of Gangwon-do.
Mountainous regions could see 15 centimeters of more snowfall through tonight while the rest of the country should see rain going away as the morning goes on.
Also, strong winds continue in most places with a wind advisory issued in Jeju and coastlines in Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsang-do Provinces.
It’s a chillier start to the day, afternoon highs are 3 to 5 degrees lower this afternoon. Seoul at 9 degrees, Daegu and Gwangju seeing highs of 12 degrees. The capital area can expect sunnier skies this afternoon.
The warming trend continues through the end of the week but rain will bring teeth-chattering temperatures to the country starting Sunday, going down to as low as minus 15 degrees next week.
