Consent to Collection and Use of Personal Information

ThxKorea (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) values your personal information and complies with the law regarding “Promotion of Information and Communications Network Use and Information Protection.”

Transmission of advertising and marketing information such as events, analysis of access frequency, or statistics on members’ service usage

■ Retention and Use Period of Personal Information

In principle, once the personal information collection and usage purposes have been achieved, the relevant information is destroyed without delay. However, the following information will be retained for the periods specified for the reasons below:

a. Reason for Information Retention based on the Company’s Internal Policies

Even if a member withdraws from membership, in order to prevent the recurrence of fraudulent use by problematic members, resolve disputes, and cooperate with requests from investigative agencies, the member’s information can be retained for 5 years from the termination of the use contract.

b. Reason for Information Retention pursuant to Relevant Laws

If it is necessary to preserve information in accordance with the provisions of related laws such as the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc., the company will retain member information for a certain period as prescribed by relevant laws. The specific reasons and periods are as follows:

■ Procedure and Method of Personal Information Destruction

The company, in principle, destroys the relevant information without delay after the purposes of collecting and using personal information have been achieved. The destruction procedure and method are as follows:

The information entered by the member for membership, etc. is transferred to a separate DB (paper records are transferred to a separate filing cabinet) after the purpose has been achieved and is destroyed after being stored for a certain period according to internal policies and other related legal information protection reasons (refer to the retention and use period). Personal information transferred to a separate DB is not used for any other purpose unless required by law.

Personal information stored in electronic file format is deleted using technical methods that make it impossible to regenerate the records.

⊙ Or, you can quickly take action by contacting the personal information protection manager in writing, by phone, or via email.

⊙ If you request a correction of errors in your personal information, we do not use or provide the personal information until the correction is completed. Also, if wrong personal information has been provided to a third party, we will notify the party without delay so that the correction can be made.

⊙ The company treats personal information canceled or deleted at the request of a user as specified in the “Retention and Use Period of Personal Information Collected by the Company” and prohibits the information from being viewed or used for other purposes.
