Good afternoon. This year’s December has surely been an extreme one from record-breaking spring warmth to a rain advisory being issued in Gangwon-do for the first time in December and a snowstorm on the same day. Mountainous regions could see 15 centimeters of more snowfall through tonight while the rest of the country should see rain going away as the day goes on.
Also, strong winds continue in most places with a wind advisory issued in Jeju and coastlines in Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsang-do Provinces. Stay safe!
Afternoon highs are 3 to 5 degrees lower than yesterday. Seoul at 9 degrees, there’s been a big drop in highs on Jeju from yesterday’s 21 to today’s 14. The capital area can expect sunnier skies this afternoon.
The warming trend continues through the end of the week but rain later in the week will bring teeth-chattering temperatures to the country starting Sunday, going down to as low as minus 15 degrees next week.
