[Weather] Rough weather in east due to typhoon Shanshan, mid summer level heat in west

Good morning. Typhoon Shanshan is approaching the island of Kyushu in western Japan, bringing rough weather to the southwest coast of Japan this morning. The typhoon will also indirectly impact parts of Korea’s South and East Sea with high sea watches and a typhoon warning in place. Also, a strong wind advisory has been issued to Busan and nearby areas and Jeju. Double check your travel schedules in case of any cancellations or delays.
Strong easterly winds will bring showers to the east coast and Jeju with up to 60 millimeters in the forecast until Friday.
Meanwhile, mid-summer level heat returns to western parts of Korea with Seoul and Gwangju expected to top out at 34 degrees Celsius this afternoon under sunny skies with strong UV rays.
Daegu gets up to 31 degrees Celsius, Busan and Jeju at 32 degrees this afternoon.
Those of us in the capital area need to brace for heat throughout the weekend.
